In terms of stories, there's all the greek goddesses raping mortal men such as Calypso with Odysseus. Dawn was notoriously aggressive with mortal men as well. Then there's the Amazons, who have a femdom related sex position named after them.

The Wife of Bath's tale in the Canterbury tales probably applies. It's about an Arthurian knight convicted of rape who is forced to find what all women want to avoid execution. An old witch tells him the on condition he marries her, and the answer is that women want sovereignty over their husbands. He is acquitted and married.

In the wedding bed, the old witch gives him two choices: she will be ugly but faithful and good to him, or be beautiful but cuckold him. He tells her to do what she wishes, because she's in charge, and so she rewards him by being beautiful and good to him.

The moral of the story from the wife of bath (who may or may not have been fictional) is that men should let women be in control of the relationship. I'd think that's pretty femdom.

They were always more of a "lol, this one struggles when you rape her" kind of deal IIRC, and only later mutated into femdom fap fodder.

Eh, it's both. I think the Greeks liked a story of warriors taming wild women, but the Amazons also used to capture men to breed with.

They were daughters of Aries in some myths and so quite formidable opponents in war.

Also, in the legends they disliked men and only got with them for procreation. One of the reasons I like femdom is because the women actively sexually dominate males because it turns them on, not avoid them.

I like the concept of strong warrior women, but not much beyond that about the amazons.

It's certainly true that Amazons were more a cautionary tale about wild women. But then, an awful lot of modern femdom is of the 'women hate you' school of thought.

I'd say it's femdom, and it's early femdom, but probably not very good femdom.

This definitely isn't the oldest by any means, but if you're interested in this stuff, the most famous instance of this is probably "Venus in Furs" by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch
