What type of shoes would you guys recommend to someone who wears a lot of basic stuff like jeans, button-ups, and wool jackets? I've got a pair of black leather desert boots, but they have an awful fit. Today I received a pair of bespoke shoes of a similar style I ordered and they look like cheap plastic garbage, so I'll probably just wear them for job interviews or something. I'm really not sure what I should look into at this point.
I was thinking of high tops or slip-ons, but I'm not sure if those really fit with the way I dress nowadays.

No slip-ons
I'd recommend high-tops, or sneakers, kinda like converse, they're the go to shoe.

I've been mulling it over and I think I'll just go with chukkas again.
I used to have a couple of pairs of Converse shoes (including a white pair from the '80s), and they were pretty decent. I'm not so big on the Chuck Taylor look now, though. Maybe when I start working better hours I'll pick up some Common Projects or something.

I wear Stan Smith's and Vans Eras, and my wardrobe is pretty much nothing but basics. Just buy a couple pairs of all black and all white shoes (b/c they go with everything), a couple colored shoes that match what you usually wear, and maybe a pair of statement shoes if you're into that kind of thing.

Yeah, I usually just stick with black shoes. I just ordered a pair of leather chukkas today, which should work until I have money to diversify a bit more.
Ideally, I'd like a pair of high tops and a pair of oxfords, but I don't think I need that much more. I've already got a couple of pairs of jump boots for doing work in, so that pretty much covers everything.

different number of eyelets
left one looks stubby AF
tongue on the right one is longer i think
right one looks to be a little bit lighter
the right one has more space between the last eyelet and the toecap thing

i saw that too, but i'm being led to believe the shoe size changes the number of eyelets, and the color is due to the lighting, at least that's what it says on the site

Look a little too busy for me, but then again I prefer a more minimalistic look.
