engaging in great effort is no guarantee of receiving great reward, neither is being lazy a guarantee of failure

life is capricious and unfair, we all know this - but the meaning of it is personal for each individual - and therefore each individual is responsible fro their own search for meaning - and they make that search as hard or as easy as they want too

That's a good answer. Being that there is no such thing as some sort of objective meaning - it's relative to oneself. And some people are more bothered by existential worries than others. Some people have never wanted for a purpose, while others are aimless and orienting themselves is a large effort that may never be accomplished.

It would have meaning even if no effort were required to obtain it. It is even arguable (because quite conceivable) that it would reach "peak" meaningfulness in worlds where zero effort is required to "obtain" it. It would then be "perfectly natural" and would have no "natural enemies". See what I'm saying here?
