Remember, adults are the real idealists, not children. Children are born curious and naive about life, but they don't have convictions nor ambitions to "change the world." Thats what jaded old men do. It's adults who make up fantastical poems on new schools of thought that end up hurting contemporaries and posterity, attacking the youth for hesitating or objecting to blindly follow. Yet, it's considered disrespectful or absurd to correct grown men as you would a child.
It's funny to see when people go apeshit when a kid makes a mistake such as: not knowing a piece of academic trivia or forgetting their chores, and accuses them of being lazy or degenerate, yet the adults themselves are forgetful and ignorant as they came. Most adults don't know shit about physical science nor care. All they wanna do is fib about some dumb shit some politician said, so they dump the burden of education on the young.
