In the underwater caves inside the deepest trenches of the ocean, it might resemble a seal I suppose, if one ever would be able to see it in its entirety.
A huge hunk of muscle and impenitrable thick skin, the multi-armed monsters we whisper about, that dwarf the largest animals we know, are its prey.
It's a good thing it hibernates most of the time, with a jaw that could crush submarines and shatter rock it's not something one hopes to encounter in the claustrophobic solitude of the deep sea.

Still, there's an entire eco-system down there. We have to research it, but who is brave enough to scale the depth and risk waking up ol' Splasher?

 No.4603

8001, a rat-sized scaly Cavern Iguanomen. These ugly little guys can fit into the tight spaces a cave system has and their scaly epidermis keeps them from developing swampfoot due to the constant humidity. Despite the lack of light, they have created a complex subterranean civilization harvesting guano, mushrooms and lichens and carving houses in the cave walls. They have spiders to catch bugs for them like trained dogs. They also like to play music in the places where an echo is heard.

The creature is what those that warned of pollution and smog spoke of. In reality, man has made the monster, and through untold means it has achieved it's own understanding and mind. It sits upon large cities, and mankind passes through it's poisonous and toxic body without realizing it.
