Fighting them is an option, but even a single occupation soldier would be able to beat you in a fair fight. If you find a way to steal from them, you might find a very good source of equipment. It's up to you if his high price tag is worth that information or not. He can also teach you a gang sign that, if flashed, will convince any street thug not working for your enemy that you are not to be fucked with.

You could punch out a bear, or handily take down a SWAT team with a butter knife. God forbid you get your hands on an actual weapon, or start practicing a codified martial art. You could very well be considered the grim reaper.

Over the years you'll start to see murder as a friendly favor, the pleasure you're denied will be something you impart to anyone who seems deserving. This means that eventually, everyone you love, admire, or respect will probably die at your hand. The only way to prevent this would be to seal yourself in concrete or fling yourself down a chasm, but you'll still be alright.
