I can sell my watch, smartphone, etc. for starting funds.

After I build a reputation as an honest merchant and have enough funds I can trade more exotic things like a week's worth of life for a week's worth of pay from the disabled or beggars or other people that can't work.

Then I can trade that life to the old rich for large amounts of money.

I could negotiate trades between two parties for a price, for instance I could help a sterile women buy the fertility of a poor whore.

Or help the deadly ill trade the health of men sentenced to death.

I can use that money to buy skills from retired/poor adventurers or from aging/poor mages.

And I'll be doing all of this while praising my God (if God's Chosen is chosen).

My initial transfer is rocky, given that I plop down in the middle of a party of nobles. Luckily, I apparently have the Mark of the Hero on my left palm…and the duke in charge of my interrogation took a liking to me…so I get hired on as his agent. The Duke grants me a Cliff Jackal as a steed and a badge of my office. The Astral Mark isn't something granted by the Duke, rather it appeared on me shortly after the transfer.

On my way to my first mission, I end up joining up with Theodore, an older gentleman with a taste for knowledge. This ends up producing a fruitful friendship as he mentors me in the ways of the world, and even a little magic to go with my magic tattoos.

Following the success of my first task, I am granted Khanda, a blade which also acts as a magical focus.

My subsequent adventures find me gathering a somewhat permanent party, including Micaela, an aging witch that seems to have a thing for younger men, and Tatrenua, a strange, angel-like construct attendant. Over the years, I use my Wordbinder ability to slowly trade up in terms of power, longevity, and health for myself and my non-immortal companions.
