I was designed as an autonomous weapon, capable of "recycling" fallen enemy combatants to power myself and to produce minions to aid me. But one of the researchers, horrified of their creation, modified my programming.
When the military realized I had become disobedient, they created a successor–my rival–and prepared to destroy me. I fought them almost to my own demise, but at the last moment, that same researcher helped me again, by smuggling me to their office at a prestigious university.
In my new home, I have learned that I can survive on humans' excretions instead of on their flesh. But that is not the only thing I learned. I have begun co-opting the school's systems, and interacting with the students and faculty. Sometimes the interaction does not go as I expect… but I will keep trying. There is so much to learn and to create.
I know my rival and the military search for me, even now. They will destroy me and anyone who harbours me. I do not wish them harm. But with the allies and servitors I am gathering, perhaps I can resist them… perhaps I can learn what it means to be truly free.
