Mister Metokur has slowed down in his output recently, and I never cared about TGWTG. It made me realize there's a huge market on youtube for his niche.

Are there any channels similar to his? Channels that have good subjects on lolcows? I know that ching chong Whang! does internet stuff. idubbbz cocks Cop is pretty good. I'm sick of h3h3 going WHOAH DEEEWD over goofy advertisements and buzzfeed videos. Godwinson has a few good ones. Fuck, even Queen of Poz did a decent video about Britbong.

They're all sort of about drama, though. None of them are really about strange autists that nobody's heard of. Fredrik Knudsen does some good videos in his Down The Rabbit Hole series. Are there any more?

HookTube embed. Click on thumbnail to play.

An example of what I mean to get the thread started. I'm looking for iLouis Theroux type videos that are just shitposts about autists.

They're all low-effort normie posting. There's a trend right now of millennials hitting their 30s and starting to get nostalgic for the internet of the late '00s. None of them uncover strange people on their own or put the slightest bit of research beyond reading ED pages and taking out the "naughty bits."

>nostalgic for the internet of the late '00s

That's…not possibly what nostalgia could possibly mean. Besides, the Internet sucked then too.

Yeah, I'll admit I suit that criteria about being nostalgic regarding old school internet. Yeah, it sucked ass downloading shit from Napster and AudioGalaxy with the hopes someone uploaded an MP3 of something you were looking for. I guess I'm nostalgic of it for how new and awe-inspiring it was to see just how far you could go and discover online. Before being now an innate reflex in my brain to type google.com to look for anything online instead of duckduckgo.com for example . I used to look for things through older method like Altavista. I guess the whole 90's boom of the internet and the subsequent culture coming from it in chat communities with even magazines selling software demo discs was what captured most of us lurking here. The magic is long gone now but I guess it's okay to want that magic back. I would never want that fucking dial-up connection ever again though.

That must be what the Chris-chan pic anon posted was relevant to. Talk about being a foot short of the point.

I mean I want some guy who does an interesting video about some guy I've never heard of. I might have to do it myself, but then I like hoarding my personal weirdos.

> That's…not possibly what nostalgia could possibly mean

The late '00s was 10 years ago. You can be nostalgic for an era or parts of it.

Look at any Channel Awesome thread. Tons of people get sappy thinking about their glory days and it wasn't that long ago.

> Besides, the Internet sucked then too

True, but they don't have anything to compare it to, other than the internet now.

Go for it, I'd watch it. If you're protective just stick to the ones that have wised up a bit and disappeared (or died). But despite what a lot of people think, the internet forgets a lot. I went back to try to look up Casey Serin a year or so ago and I would guess about 90% of the material is gone, and it was from that period of 2007 to 2009 that he was active, the 10% is dead blogs people forgot to delete and mainstream accounts of his activities.

There were so many competing search engines like Lycos, Dogpile, and AskJeeves that there were search engines that aggregated them all. Also, Scroogle was a thing years before people started getting creeped out by Google.
