Way easier to go after reviewers than gaming companies. You can make a reviewer resign or pressure a site shut to down, but they're replaceable at the end of the day. As long as they're better than what came before that's good enough. With companies like EA/Ubisoft/Activision/etc. you're dealing with not only multimillionaire/billionaire companies, but they can survive even with negative press due to average people looking at trailers and buying off of that.
