He posts daily on Facebook. Uli has a job, bought a car, has traveled to Hawaii, Florida, Colorado and Boston and is moving to Florida eventually.

He stopped paying for the hosting of his amazing website so it's vaporized. Didn't want to spend the money. There's a thread for "ex-lolcows" with more info about him.

He stopped development on Platform Masters several years ago. He would only work on it during the commercials while watching TV. When he couldn't get cable TV anymore, no more commercials, so no more Platform Masters.

Truth be told his sister was pretty sad. She claimed agoraphobia, PTSD, a bunch of things (not including "garish face tattoos) and would run gofundmes that no one would contribute to. She stuck it out on her own a little bit longer but eventually she moved back home too.

I actually want to know how they were raised as there seems to be a lot wrong there. She alluded to "horrors" back home but never went into detail. Uli was on the one hand indulged (half of his medical problems were just autism/OCD imposing patterns on his life that he felt were unbreakable). On the other hand, just a year or two ago he was saying his parents wouldn't let him go more than 50 feet away from their house without permission.

I'm no shrink but there seems to be a massive correlation between OCD and child troll, i remember there being some kind of study that said OCD wasn't chemical since meds are ineffective against it(only being used to supplement therapy)

my take is that it's a psychological defense mechanism that kicks in to impose order - or at least the feeling thereof - onto an otherwise chaotic life.

Water guy was a good example of a lolcow sorting out his shit.

This is rare but when it does happen it's essentially a happy ending, like a recovery story or something. The guy was afraid of water because of playing vidya and he eventually focused and conquered this fear for the better, I say good on him, he deserves to be happier.

Generally speaking though, lolcows are lolcows because they're unknowingly funny, unless they have the self awareness to realize they need to improve they're usually stuck in that situation where they'll forever live out their lives like supreme autists. Whether this is because they're given a comfortable enough life to continue acting in the way they do without genuine consequence or they simply don't have the cognitive ability to even realize that what they're doing is not normal it usually means they're not going to see improvements.

But with the water guy, he actually got a job and did what he could to make his life better, heck, even if he never gets a girlfriend (though he may get one yet) he's actually improved his condition tenfold and I'm genuinely happy for that.

We don't hate lolcows, we're just fascinated and amused by them. If they actually become better people over time then more power to them.

I'm curious to hear of any more ex lolcows that are no longer cows because they actually bettered themselves.
