It definitely seemed to lose focus

It's the same thing that happened in Avatar: The Last Airbender's last season - they needed to pad the whole thing out somehow so we got a lot of episodes of Rex and company just fucking about.

Yeah, her backstory make me feel bad as hell plus her design has a nice balance of 'freak' and cute, but still simplistic enough to stand out compared to the rest
She's way ahead of Circe (the megaphone blowjob chick) for sure, i don't know why Rex would even want to bone her so bad

The problem is, she's completely flat and unlikable. There's no issue with a character being the designated love interest but at least make her affable.

It was a decent show that fell apart in the end.
No.997423

Yeah, overall it's good
Some episodes are legitimately good and even stray from the action / comedy format. Hell it even used a side character as a pivotal plot point that changes everything about the plot
The best example i could give of this nicely paced deviation is the episode where Rex got a stroke due to nanite overdose and got his nanites transfered into a remote nanite offload outpost. But it turns out that the Providence technician in charge of the facility has been offloading Rex's nanites to Van Kleis (did i spell that right? Well w/e, he did nothing wrong) for some quick bucks. Then he gets infected by the nanites he stored in a last ditch effort to get Six to back off, and turned into a fucking behemoth monstrosity complete with a spooky change sequenceThe rest of the episode is Rex fighting off the monstrosity even though he's still overloaded with nanites
There's also one where he fights a helpless host that puts the city into a state of complete stupor, with White Knight being the only backup he has.
Yeah it does has it's low moments, but it's good definitely outweighs the bad in my eyes. Shame that it barely gets discussed.

Every slice of life comedy episode was a slip, especially the bunnies episode.
It feels like this cartoon was originally pitched as Resident Evil, but the CN executives didn't like it and started throwing "funny" shit around like Bobbo, the bunnies, the comedy, the mickey mousing soundtrack.
It has some really good episodes similar to Symbionic Titan. But just like that show, too much comedy and slice of life.

And Generator Rex also seems to be inspired from the game series FEAR.
Not like it isn't all a generic sci-fi on earth secret agent organization versus zombified monsters/aliens, but still Breach felt too much like Alma or the girl from The Ring.

I think this show was based on a comic.
Is it me or does anyone here feel Van Kleiss was wasted as a villain. He starts off pretty cool as this Magneto type of character but it feels like they just don't know what to do with him later on.

That's why you got to be smart anon. You can't just stand right in the middle of the open firing your weapon while the monster slowly approaches you and shit like that. You got to remain alert, mobile and use cover. Mooks aren't very smart.

That's another matter the show handled weirdly: There were people who the nanites had clearly mutated. They're still EVOs so why wouldn't Rex drain them?
For that matter, why wouldn't Providence attempt to recruit them as field agents?
No.998695
>>998654
Maybe Providence wanted to avoid any problems with the populace by having evos around since they are seen as dangerous. Rex being a special case since he can cure them. I also imagine Rex didn't want to cure anyone who didn't want that. Since that shit builds up and he has to go have them dumped at a secure facility. Just drain the ones that go crazy. Don't want to turn into a giant rampaging robot again.
