Every goddamn live action movie with CGI characters:

>CGI character does a thing and starts talking.

>In the middle of CG character's talking, the camera switches to a live actor rolling their eyes, or other apathetic reaction while said character keeps talking.

I know they're doing this to save money on the animation, but god it pisses me off so much everytime I see this in live action/CGI hybrid. It's not even making an attempt to maintain suspension of disbelief.

Or that one scene when the CG characters reach the "big city" be it L.A or N.Y and a montage of the city looking flashy and hip starts playing. With the characters staring wide-eyed with their jaws dropping at everything.

And then they interact with "common everyday object or appliance" and somehow break it or get stuck, to which human character helps them get unstuck and scolds them.

Oh and then there's that obligatory scene near the beginning when CG character meets human male protagonist and the human screams loudly because he is surprised and scared by the CG character, so the CG creature screams back and they interchange screams back and forth.

Also the scene where CG character can be seen eating a real life branded product, with a heavy emphasis on the logo.

How could I forget the scene where some real life dog or pet starts growling and barking/hissing at the CG character, to which the CG critter replies with an even louder bark and a GOOFY AND SCARY face, then the dog whimpers or cat runs away.

Then there's also the scene where the CG character is seen playing a videogame or something else with the human, CG out-skills the human and does a cringe-worthy celebration dance, maybe shaking his butt.

Oh and let's not forget all the forced modern pop songs that might or might not be playbacked/singed by the CG thing.

I'm sick of CGI films nowadays, especially Dreamworks ones. Also those stupid "Dreamworks Faces" most CGI films do now are terrible.

I also can't stand movies about comic/cartoon characters from a magical world visiting the real world, specifically New York. Fuck the Smurfs, fuck Enchanted, and Fuck the He-Man movie. Just a cheap way to avoid any world building and taking the cheap route.

I don't think I've ever actually seen the Pixarface in a movie, just in the posters.

looney tunes: back in action is an actually good flim compared to space jam.

Couldn't agree more, also it had Fraser before he got JUSTed. The gameboy game wasn't half bad either.

I can remember Last Action Hero having a CGI (or maybe traditional animated, it was a fair while back) character that everybody just took completely in their stride. But he was only in it for about 2 minutes.

It was a 2D animated cat detective, the kid tried pointing out to action hero Arny that a cartoon cat could not exist in actual reality but it could in a movie.

Was it based on something particular?

Unless you count that old cartoon Bonkers, no. And even Bonkers is pretty different despite both featuring talking cat detectives. I think Wacky Animated Sidekicks had a brief run of popularity on account of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and LHA was riffing on that.
