My grandfather died.
I'm just trying to lighten myself up with a thread and figured it would be nice to have thread to talk and discuss Death and your thoughts about her.

She's a qt. I heard she moonlights as a beekeeper now.

Nice job double posting. Sorry about your granddad though.

Embodiments of death are a retarded idea, embodiments of entropy make more sense
No.1025765
>>1025763
No it doesn't. Death is the passage into another form. Entropy is just nonexistence. It makes no sense whatsoever for nothing to have personification.

OP here.
I feel like reading some Death stories right now to clear my head from this. I haven't even finished all of The Sandman at this point.

Fucking hell anon, my grandfather died on the same day a year ago, my condolences. You're going to find yourself wanting to talk to him and be around him soon, and knowing he isn't there anymore is what will hurt the most. Have a thread appropriate song to help you relax, I hope your old man is in a better place now.
I have The High Cost of Living on my HDD atm, will story time, then maybe some other anon can take over with another story.

That's about it, enjoy.
I'm very sorry for your loss OP, I hope you find the strength to carry on living after it.
If anyone has any other Sandman stories with Death, I'd appreciate if they were storytimed as well.

The reason why living things die is because of entropy, their bodies wear down until they give out

Death is the absence of life, it is not the equal of life
just as darkness is the absence of light and is not the equal of it

Oh boy. Considering your state of mind, the ending will either make you feel good or turn you into a blubbering mess.

Hey thanks. I'm grateful for the effort, and it's gonna be tough ride going ahead knowing I can't say or ask him anything anymore, but I'll be alright.

A short story, originally published in one of Vertigo's Winter's Edge anthologies. Death reflecting on her job history, and how she learned not to be a bitch.

Death is a nice girl with a good head on her shoulders and a casual goth style. You could take her home to meet mom and not worry about a thing. Of course, she's also dumb enough to go off with a guy like Theo. Sorry about your grandpa. I remember when mine died, both of them. The first one, I was too young to really get it and I just felt kind of strange and dazed for a while. The other one, I'd kind of already said goodbye to him because he had alzheimer's for a few years before he died and the only person he recognized was my grandma. It's strange to see men you've known all your life waste away and then disappear.

The Endless were a stupid concept within DC lore. They honestly would've worked better in their own setting. Maybe even in the Watchmen world before it got merged with the DC multiverse.

Here here, mother died this year. As much of a leftist she was, I still should've been much nicer to her than how I was. Everything's been getting shittier and I haven't been numb enough to it.
I'll forever pinpoint the day this year went to hell to the end of may.
