WARNING I AM PROBABLY INSANE

WARNING I AM PROBABLY INSANE

WARNING I AM PROBABLY INSANE

I’ve always had thoughts, usually intrusive or acting in the perspective as it’s from someone else. Sometimes they lead me to good sometimes not, I don’t know.

I’ve had crazy thoughts, telling me I’m going to become the King of America, and even crazier things.

One thought which abstained me from masturbating was this:

You have a son named Joseph, if you masturbate He will cease to exist.

Few weeks later someone in this dream (I have no idea who these two people are, they were humble and polite and I was angry at first for some reason)

One of them came up to me and said “Blessed is your son Joseph”

I feeling the most shocked ever, simply not able to describe it.

I’ve had one dream turn out to be completely false probably because of prelest (well I’ll need to wait a little bit longer actually). I don’t know if this one will have meaning, I remember there’s a certain line to be drawn when the dreams are prelest or not.

Regardless, this last week I’ve been struggling with temptation edging on porn but refusing to masturbate. I don’t know if it was pre-cum but I felt I was about to come, so I jumped up snapping back, and started to have the urge to go to the bathroom. Now I’m not sure if my pee was mixed in with the semen, but I’ve been having a lot of health problems and the urine has been clear with a yellow and orange mix. There was white stuff, I read a forum post:

https://www.healthyandnaturalworld.com/particles-in-urine/

Saying it’s normal (especially if health problems).

But then I had a dissenting view from checking this out:

https://www.steadyhealth.com/topics/is-it-normal-to-semen-and-urine-mix

Honestly I don’t know, I’m mentally troubled from living in some sort of Norwegian prison because of my health. I don’t know if it’s some delusion, but I’ll pray nonetheless for mercy and whatever The Lord wills.

Please pray for me a sinner.

You need a clear guidance. And you must adhere to that guidance. This is why the Church exists.

Seek a Catholic or Orthodox priest immediately.

I’m a Protestant in the progress of becoming Orthodox (yet have some hurdles like my parents being strong Protestants, only knowing that I’m looking into Orthodoxy out of curiosity).

So question 2 questions:

1. Is it ok to confess to a priest over the internet?

2. Am I required to confess every single sin? Can’t I confess to God the ones that I am too ashamed to tell anyone else?

I am a Catholic. Unless you have been confirmed into the Orthodox Church, my understanding is that you cannot receive the sacrament of Confession. I could be wrong on this, however. You must seek the appropriate priest.

In Confession, yes, you confess everything. In Catholicism, and this is true for Orthodoxy also, the priest is seen as acting in personae Christi, meaning in the very person of Christ. When you confess, the confessor should be treated as if he were Christ Himself. This is why you must let go of any shame or embarrassment. The priest doesn't care about any of that, he only cares about administering the sacrament so you receive the grace of God's forgiveness.

I should add that, no, you can't attend Confession over the internet apart from, I imagine, exceptional circumstances. In person is always best.

To my knowledge, all mortal sins are forgiven upon baptism into the Catholic/Orthodox faith. I could be wrong about this since I'm not a convert, but I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't need to worry about past sins upon baptism since you are beginning a new life in Christ.

This is true. However, if OP has already been baptised with the Trinitarian formula it is likely valid.

The Catholic church indulged plenty of crazy people itself.Look no further than so called "Doctor" and "saint" Catherine of Siena. Who said she was given a ring by Christ made of his foreskin (it was invisible). I don't even want to her call her personally blasphemous. Just misguided and crazed. The Orthodox never had (or has) any saints like this. Both Catholics and Orthodox need to heed the wisdom of the ancient church instead. Catholics don't do it anymore. They follow a lot of crazy stuff (Faustina is another). The Church warned long ago that demons visit us and we shouldn't believe every vision. I don't say these people are evil or necessarily bad though. Demons harass us when we are a threat to God. Catherine seemed very personally admirable in her care for people. But she was deceived. This happened to some desert fathers especially, who, when getting closer to God, also got harassed by demons. Tbh, it's happened to me, and I thank God I haven't remained in my foolishness.

First of all, I think it is in poor taste to call personal revelation a sign of madness. If you were to read many of the prophets with the lens of modern "psychology" you'd think they were crazy too. St. Catherine of Siena's devotions go beyond her, both the Orthodox and Catholics recognize the Feast of the Circumcision of Christ and the symbolic importance of the ritual. Personal revelation has personal meaning. She did not try and say it was dogma.

Regardless, it is simply dishonest to claim that Orthodoxy does not have crazy people. There was an incident not too long ago where a monk on Mt. Athos purposely set himself on fire. All throughout history I'm not saying all Orthodox are crazy or this is common, but you need to be careful claiming there are no instances of it when half the time it's just since it isn't as easy to find out.

Go to a true confession. Catholic or Orthodox priest
