David ruled in Hebron for 7 years and in Jerusalem for 33 years for a total of 40 years. Aren't the numbers kinda interesting here? 7 years is the Jubilee, Jesus died when he was about 33 and 33 is composed of two threes representing both the Trinity and the imprint of the Trinity on the human nature being in the image of God (body, soul, spirit), and then of course there is the number 40 which is the number of days it rained on Earth during the days of Noah and the amount of years the Israelites wandered in the desert. It's like the whole of salvation is played out with David's reign. It's as if the number 40 is the sum of salvation. We have the first creation in the number 7, and the new creation in the number 33, summed together as 40. Each time the number 40 occurs it is almost like a microcosm for salvation history. Very interesting. Any other examples?
