I understand it as a metaphor when the entire human spirit will be free from any ploy of evil, filled with compassion, kindness and truth that even the vilest person sheds tears for the suffering of another. And then humanity prospers for generations, science advances so much that all diseases are cured, lifespawn is increased to great lenghts, space exploration and colonies, clean transportation, weather control etc.
Philosophy would advance for the unification of all rational thought with the wisdom of God, politics would be a literal burden to go into for the best and brightest to 'serve' the interest and well being of all…
Basically a utopia of utopias where Christ is Lord in each ours' spirit and character.
I don't know how God will do it, but I hope and pray it won't involve the utter annihilation of the world and miraculously remaking it nor even killing off a portion of humanity or anything that dire.
If there would be a mythical miracle, I hope God would fill every heart with his love and we would just come to understand His grace.
I don;t think Revelation will play out literally since ancient Israelites imagined the Messiah as a warmongering Imperial Solomon, but He came to us all as a poor, homeless David.
That makes me think God is more of a poet than we can ever understand.
