It's worth addressing this, at least for the sake of any onlookers, not maybe these particular "pagans", but when God makes His first covenant with Israel, it is through Abraham and there explicit mention is made of gentiles, how he will also bring great blessing to them as well:

“I will make you into a great nation,

I will bless you,

I will make your name great,

and you will be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you,

I will curse those who curse you,

and all the peoples on earth

will be blessed through you.”

And throughout the OT we find similar passages, so it is actually contrary to fact then, this idea that God only considered "the Jews". From the very beginning it was His plan to bless every nation through Israel, and it is this blessing from whom we Christians derive our name.
