Keep in mind that "evangelisch" in Germany was just the term originally applied to contrast Protestants with Catholic. Thus, the "evangelisch" church is mainstream Lutherans who largely don't have any strong defence of the infallibility of the Bible or emphasis on personal conversion.

The churches closer to the American and British term "evangelical" are the "Freikirche".
