Is Christ's Mass a pagan holiday?

By definition it isn't, but all the fun parts of Christmas are known to have non-Christian origins, and Jesus wasn't born in December.

No and Santa Claus is a Dutch Protestant abomination to replace Saint Nicholas that was exported to the US. If you’re Catholic, remember to teach this to your kids.

No. But I do think lying to your children about Saint Nick/Santa Claus is evil, and I would not do it. We would share gifts directly, and focus on Christ. Trees and fat meal included. Just no lies.

No but it can be

For anything to be "pagan" must have certain features and the most important is to not be in the name of Christ. Replacing a holiday of the weak pagan faith with a holiday in the name of Christ the Savior makes it by definition not pagan. It represents the victory of light over degeneracy and darkness.

Today's over consumeristic Christmass of capitalism tend to be pagan though. And it's expectable since consumerism and capitalism is the paganism of our age.

>and Jesus wasn't born in December.

Early tradition was that Jesus was conceived on the date of his future crucifixion, which would place it in December, 9 months after passover.

We should all celebrate the three kings day on 6th of January

ff36e3  No.702656

>>702543

No of course not.

December 25th was chosen not because the Roman festival but because Jesus's conception date was placed on March 25th because it was believed he was conceived and died on the same date. In fact, the Roman Sol festival wasn't actually a popular celebration and many historians believe it may have only gained some popularity in the 4th century in order to actually rival the Christian celebration of Christmas which had been established as being on December 25th since the 3rd century.

Christmas trees seem to have been an invention of German Lutherans sometime in the late 16th century as a decoration for the season.

Santa Clause is based off the Ditch Sinter Klass and the English Father Christmas who were both based off of the actual St. Nicholas of Myra who punched a heretic named Arius in the face at the First Council of Nicaea (325 A.D.).

It is one particular day that everyone can be both the giver and the receiver, it is celebrated in the name of our Lord. I would say it is not pagan holiday as in we are celebrating a pagan spirit, but a nice tradition we started a long time ago for Him.
