The christian calendar is the Gregorian, which is the civil calendar used in most of the world which was instituted by Pope Gregory XIII. The orthodox church still uses the julian which was the civil calendar of pagan rome which they inherited. The church sets where the feast days fall on it.

The Christian calendar is the Gregorian calendar, yes. It is the most accurate calendar yet devised. The civil calendar *is* the Gregorian calendar, but with "Before Common Era" and "After Common Era" instead of "Before Christ." and "Anno Domino"

Islamic calendar implemented by the culturally related Arabs is also similar following the movements of the moon. Such calendars might suffice for nomadic pastoralists as the early Hebrews are believed to have been, but have proven unworkable for agrarian use. For this reason the calendars used by individual kingdoms and empires have been adopted. In the past there was much diversity in the calendars used by different church communities.

Everyone said before/after Christ. That's the way I've learned it and it's on every history book I've read.
