The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

>Romans 13

Let's look at context. Paul is specifically talking about this because at that time people though that the Kingdom of God might be a literal kingdom where the Jews took over Rome. His point was that the Kingdom of God is within us, not in the world as a part of politics. So we change the world not by changing the political structures but by changing ourselves from within.

quick and obvious answer, ya if the laws are good and righteous. we aren't obliged to follow evil laws, we arent even obliged to accept them, just like we shouldn't accept evil men abusing innocent people in front of us.

> So we change the world not by changing the political structures but by changing ourselves from within.

ya this is also true. revolutions are gay.

True. Ever since human history, revolutionists justifies themselves with bullshit like "there is no crime in the revolution" and things ended up really violent and bloody.

What makes me curious is that if one day, we are oppressed hard like straight out of dystopia hard, murder is a norm, etc. Should we ourselves set to right the wrong without a bloody revolution? As in staying Christian no matter (e.g. staying away from sin, kindness even met with a spit or a curse) what. That will put you on the devil worshipper radar and cap you silently before you can change the world by being the light in the darkness? Which if it happens just be a martyr?

reformations tho…

Better question, how many examples do we have of Christians breaking the law of the land?

Look at the countries which disallows Christianity and look up how many martyred for it. Also China crackdown on "illegal" church which the communists did not approve.

The American Revolution, since most of those guys were Christians.

reformers should've stayed in the church and kept it honest.

Protestantism has devolved into chaos, and the Catholic church lost a lot of brain power and piety because so many decent people were lost to it

This I agree with.
