The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

What does /christian/ think of him?

This is a very balanced article that outlines both the good and the bad.

Overall it is my opinion he is a good influence, as long as people don't make an idol of him and are able to take the good without shutting off their critical brain.

Sure, he's not strictly a christian, probably has his own heterodox view of God, but he's encouraging many people to read the Bible and to discover Christianity.

I believe he has very sound advice on the individual psychological level but I do not agree with many of his moderate political stances.

Also most of the time his critics are just name-calling hysterics. There is a lot of valid criticism of his jungian method that can be made, but it's almost never the case in most of the things writteng against him you'll find online. For the major part is just very angry character assasination, rather than rational criticism.

One criticism I have is how his daughter posts multiple photos of herself in her underwear, bra, bikinis, and topless (with nipples cropped out) on instagram. She claims she’s doing it to show how healthy her body is since she has had serious illnesses, and is on an all meat diet. But it’s mostly typical Instagram whoring, although I have a little sympathy because she has lived with a horrible, depressing illness, and the attention feels good.

But I think it reflects poorly on his parenting, and she is setting a bad example for her daughter. She also got pregnant out of wedlock, but got married to the father.

I think his personal improvement advice is good. Listening to his lectures has helped me improve myself. He recommends a lot of books in his lectures that look fascinating. I add every book he mentions to a list.

I don’t like some of the worshipping that goes on with him. At the Sam Harris talk, people were clapping after everything said, both for him and Sam, as if they were hysterical teen girls at a Beatles concert.

I think he's on the right track, but I wish he'd just become a Christian already.

Can't stomach him in the slightest, the biggest offender of being able to say so much without saying anything at all.

Watch the video of what he says on abortion (protip:nothing)

He sits on the fence with jargon on big issues to keep the big money coming in

Beat me to it. It's not over for him yet, I think he may see the truth before too long.

He is in it for the money and he isn't even a christian, not to mention that he doesnt credit the people whose ideas he uses.

I like him

d89468  No.698450

Not nearly as bad as the critics say, nowhere near as good as his fans say. The most offensive thing from him was LARPing as a Christian when he clearly wasn't one (something he admitted afterwards) and being emphatically a Zionist for no apparent reason, though I guess it is to signal away the claim he is alt-right or something.

His life advice has plenty of good and I like that he promotes a philosophy of accepting and enduring suffering as our condition on this Earth, though a lot of that is more due to how insane people are today than any particular insight Peterson has.

His classroom psychology lectures are better than any of the pseudo-spiritual bullshit he is more famous for.
