Meditation is very much a Christian thing, what is evil about New Age meditation is the emptying of the mind and the focus on the self. Meditation on the Word and the nature and deeds of God, and his works in the world and in our lives is something profoundly holy.
The drum a means of focus and creative worship, like any other instrument but meant more for private devotion. I have audiotactile synesthesia (Crosswire in the brain that lets you feel certain sounds as something akin to a physical sensation, it's not so much special and unique as people who have it tend not to know, because it's a type of synesthesia that goes easily unnoticed, and doesn't provide many of the benefits of other forms), so the resonance actually really does calm me and help me focus, and I think even in the Bible there's precedent with David playing his Harp for Saul to calm his fits of rage. I honestly think a lot of new age practice is just appropriation of gifts God has given the human body by false spirits and placebo ceremonies, and with discernment certain elements can be divorced from their blasphemy into constructive practice.
I also know that's a dangerous line to walk, which is why I draw the line at physical phenomena and never touch the spiritual, but the human body can quite clearly do some amazing things, and I don't think it does much good to deny God that glory when so many take it upon themselves.
