The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Why is 1 Kings, chapter 16, verse 14:

>Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

Verse 20:

>Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and the treason he committed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

And, version 27:

>Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and the might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

…all presented as a question?

There were official state records. Author of Kings took those records, get better bits, under inspiration, and, under inspiration, added commentary. But he also said, under inspiration, that those kings done much more and if you want to look it up there are records. But those records were sadly lost.

Questions about Bible Verses General? Here's mine:

Exodus 15:17 seems like an explicit reference to the Temple Mount…but this is hundreds of years too early for that. When was the book of Exodus supposed to have been written according to Church tradition?

The other holy mountain, in the book of Genesis. Eden was presumably at or near it's base.

I don't recall reference to such a mountain. Could you point me out to a passage about it? Also that passage in Exodus mentions the "Sanctuary which thy hands have built" which is why I assume it must be a reference to the Temple.

You do realize that it's prophecy, right?

uh oh OP…UH OH you just never know what might happened!

Forever a mystery

Doesn't sound like it to me. It sounds more like a contemporary reference by the text's author to an already existing Temple. Not saying that I disbelieve in prophecy, just this particular verse does not sound like it's intended as prophecy. The context is a song of victory over Pharoah's army. Is the of Church consensus (cathodox) position that these verses are prophetc?

>Doesn't sound like it to me.

And is does for me. It's song made by Holy Ghost after all.

Also, you can take as generic reference to Canaan being mountainous

> Is the of Church consensus (cathodox) position that these verses are prophetc?

Yes. "And they sang song of Moses"
