The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Anyone go to mass/church/liturgy daily? And confession regularly?

I go rarely to both. I never even thought of going daily…but I've heard some good things from folks who do…anyone here notice a difference from going rarely to daily?

Mass at least 3 times per week, confession weekly. The difference I notice is that I meet more, and different, people. For example, I met a couple of people my age who only go to Mass on Wednesdays at the small church, but go to the larger one for Sunday Mass. If I only went to Sunday Mass, I'd have never met them and would only assume that elderly people went to church.

When I was in Uni I would go 5-7 times a week to mass. I noticed it helped bolster my spirituality and I developed a strong prayer pattern and felt very close to the Lord. I would also start off every morning in a great mood after mass looking forward to trying my best to serve Him through the day. When going to mass several times a week I found that its much easier to fight off temptation and sin.

I try to go to confession monthly if possible sometimes I cannot think of enough sins in my everyday life to go. I found that I would always be renewed after confession and the semi-regular confession had me much more aware of the lesser sins in my life.

I'd suggest trying to go to mass a few times a week.

If my church offered liturgy every day I would go. Right now it's two vesper services and one liturgy per week.

Ordinary form on Sunday mornings, extraordinary on Monday nights, and confession every Saturday evening. Plus any other commitments I have on (once a month stuff like youth groups, leadership training, etc).

It's a pretty good routine going but I can definitely see the benefit of something on Wednesday to break up the week. I might even start abstinence on Wednesday along with Fridays.

>that prayer pose

Ugh. Why do people do that? They don't know what this is supposed to symbolise?

Well the Orans Posture symbolizes "offering" or "presenting" to God. It's not appropriate at mass since the priest is the one offering our prayers. When you use it, it's like you're officiating mass with the priest.

Thank you for the explanation. I have learned something today.

Lex orandi, Lex credendi m8. You start with usurping priest's poses and then whole idea of priesthood starts to get wacky.

What he >>692258 said plus what St Thomas said: The priest in extending his arms signifies the outstretching of Christ's arms upon the cross.

Its is borderline blasphemous to do Orans posture during mass while not being priests, since it is priest who is in persona Christi.
