The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Any of you guys seen this movie hereditary? I did not finish this "programming".I regained a lot of faith learning about this Paimon demon.

I haven't seen it, but I've heard it was good as horror movies go.

My problem with horror movies in general is that most of them aren't good enough to justify the scawwyness. The only "horror" movies I've ever really enjoyed was Alien and Aliens. I don't normally watch horror stuff though, I see no point in purposefully trying to scare myself with dumb jump scares. If it's not backed up by a great story or great acting, horror just isn't interesting to me.

As for the demon stuff, it's mostly done to be edgy. I wouldn't pay much attention to it.

Hereditary is a pretty good movie. I've watched it a couple times now and it's beautifully done. Film students should be studying it.

Most of it is a pop culture garbage with Dante tier hell and similar stuff instead of an actual theology.

I've seen the entire film, wouldn't recommend it. Not because it was badly done, but because the whole family tragedy aspect was done a little too well.

However, I do appreciate that more and more films are showing sorcerers for what they are: evil, interested only in gaining, wealth, knowledge, and personal power, with no regard to what they have to do to get it. Ari Aster might be /OurGuy/ in Hollywood, his next film Midsommar will feature a violent pagan cult rather than glorifying paganism.

Started out okay, devolved into pure gross-out. 6/10.
