They will be there, they just tend to hide their true colours. For the moment, we will have to sit with the Jordan Petersons of the world until Academia gets itself together again.

This will also be definitely true of the students, too. Incidentally, univesrity was the only place I ever met a genuine Christian creationist. As a matter of fact I also met fascists, Thatcherites, and some tories, too, as well as bog-standard queer wallflowers, and we all used to sit in the reception of our student halls shooting the shit until the early hours. Looking back on it it was pretty surreal.

Don't give me guff about "muh liberals" because Lewis and Tolkien were incredibly liberal for their day.
