Our shepherd is Jesus and we are the sheep. As sheep we are supposed to follow the shepherd (Jesus) not another sheep (A fellow believer). If we follow another sheep that sheep might wander off away from the great shepherd and were stuck following the dumb sheep. This probably describes what the modern church is like we have a pastor on an elevated platform and were just supposed to hope he knows the way to Jesus. In the early christian "church" there were no churches, the church was literally the members gathered together in one of the members houses to discuss Gods word. Everyone would partake in the discussion there wont be one single person were supposed to follow to hope we get to Jesus we will cut out the middle man and just look at Jesus directly.
Ask yourself this, should we abandon the church and go back to tradition? Should we gather in our houses to discuss God's word so that we may look to the shepherd to get back to the shepherd?
