In line 625, it is described as "a sign by Solomon". Solomon, the third king of Israel, in the 10th century BC, was said to have the mark of the pentagram on his ring, which he received from the archangel Michael. The pentagram seal on this ring was said to give Solomon power over demons

Yes, it looks like you're quite right. The satanists use the inverted pentagram which is on an angle. However, the occultists and the wiccans like to use the pentagram for their jiggery-pokery.

Interestingly, there is a little debate about the real Star of David. Some Jews used the pentagram, but then the hexagram became used. According to one story I read, the Pentagram was used by Solomon to protect himself from demons and the Hexagram he used to protect himself from men.

Of course, Solomon was an extraordinary man with a very close and personal relationship with God (until, sadly, he fell), whereas most of us are just simple men dependant on the mediation of Jesus.
