The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

>14th Century English Poem - Sir Gawain

>The poem describes the pentangle as a symbol of faithfulness and an "endless knot". From lines 640 to 654, the five points of the pentangle relate directly to Gawain in five ways: five senses, his five fingers, his faith found in the five wounds of Christ, the five joys of Mary (whose face was on the inside of the shield) and finally friendship, fraternity, purity, politeness and pity (traits that Gawain possessed around others). In line 625, it is described as "a sign by Solomon". Solomon, the third king of Israel, in the 10th century BC, was said to have the mark of the pentagram on his ring, which he received from the archangel Michael. The pentagram seal on this ring was said to give Solomon power over demons

Any thoughts about the pentagram as a religious symbol?

It's good, but sadly because of Satan some have taken it for their own nefarious uses. I'd also use it privately unless you give the wrong message to some brethren.

Thanks. Time to take back these symbols from the satanists. Even the upside down cross represents St Peter because he considered himself unworthy to be crucified upright like Jesus.

I believe the Satanic form of the Pentagram is upside-down itself, isn't it? I could be wrong but reversing Christian information seems to be a favorite technique of Hell and its denizens.

Yes, it looks like you're quite right. The satanists use the inverted pentagram which is on an angle. However, the occultists and the wiccans like to use the pentagram for their jiggery-pokery.

Interestingly, there is a little debate about the real Star of David. Some Jews used the pentagram, but then the hexagram became used. According to one story I read, the Pentagram was used by Solomon to protect himself from demons and the Hexagram he used to protect himself from men.

Of course, Solomon was an extraordinary man with a very close and personal relationship with God (until, sadly, he fell), whereas most of us are just simple men dependant on the mediation of Jesus.

Guys, the pentagram is a pagan symbol. It was used long before christianity or satanism ever existed.

>inb4 Solomon used it

If an angel of God gives you something then there is wisom behind it. Also "it is said" doesn't count as 100% proof.

to inverse a symbol is to invert its meaning, that's why Satanists use upside down cross, although Christians understand it as st. peters cross, Satanists use inverse of the normal cross, and not st peters, nor is it upside down but inversed, symbolising the antithesis to its symbolism

> Sir Gawain

hes a representation and encoding withing the Arthurian legends, an aspect of luciferianism, not the commonly thought of devil of dante imagery though. similar to how Mormonism is a branch of freemasonic ritual and worship.

>his strength waxes and wanes with the sun; in the most common form of this motif, his might triples by noon, but fades as the sun sets

he is an aspect of the sun worship cults but the mythology is mixed with a people who were not in easy contact with the original source material any longer so there are druidic influences and over time cultural memes included which have created an original story but the basis is eastern ba'al or sun worship.

religion is very important and the sun cults are very predominant today, more so than actual followers of jesus word, they follow the amalgamation of pagan and roman pantheons with the christ as the dressing over the meaning underneath. if you would like to get a very starting for understanding and seeing these patterns check out this documentary, its about 40 hours long but everything is sourced and you can verify it.
