The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

>Pope Francis is urging governments to make good on their commitments to curb climate change, warning that continued unsustainable development and rampant consumption threaten to turn the Earth into a vast pile of “rubble, deserts and refuse.”

>Francis made the appeal Friday at a Vatican conference marking the third anniversary of his landmark environmental encyclical "Praise Be." The document, meant to spur action at the 2015 Paris climate conference, called for a paradigm change in humanity's relationship with Mother Nature. "“Praise be to you, my Lord, through our Sister, Mother Earth," (LAUDATO SI)

>In his remarks, Francis urged governments to honor their Paris commitments and said institutions like the IMF and World Bank had important roles to play in encouraging reforms promoting sustainable development.

>IMF

>WORLD BANK

>play important roles in promoting sustainable development

>He warned: “There is a real danger that we will leave future generations only rubble, deserts and refuse.”

Glad to see he's finally tackling the BIG ISSUES, the stuff people really need to hear and learn about and propagate.

How should we as individuals fight for this important Global Cause? It's really the most urgent issue of our times, people have to understand how important the IMF and World Bank are at promoting sustainable development and how important Mother Earth is for everyone, specially refugees. Build Bridges. Turn your lights off. Support Green Initiatives. It's time to make some REAL progress.

Amen brother. Free the Whales.

The funny thing is that if everyone followed Catholic teachings then we would have more sustainable development, technology, etc. Maybe he should focus on that instead?

100% Agree. We need to enact radical social justice. Material equilibrium will be attained when Mother Nature is respected to her fullest.

I agree with Pope Francis and insist that they get on that right away by disbanding.

>Bishop of Rome, who has lots of followers in the developing world and Global South, especially in the coming future, urges govs to stop messing up the Earth, changes which should hit the developing world and Global South the most;

Yes, OP, it's a total conspiracy why he's pro-green.

I'm sure every other apostolic group is on it, too.

winnie the pooh the climate. His job is to save souls by converting them to Catholicism and ensuring that Catholics receive absolution for sins they are penitent for. Anything that doesn't involve spreading, enhancing, or defending the faith is a waste of his time. This world will end. His job is to shepherd souls into the next world.

The pope doesn't write his own speeches.

You're right. But you need to understand the demons are masters of word play.

The biggest dog whistle is "sustainable development" it actually means government control of natural resources.

Notice how gender equality is sneakly in there, sustainable development includes the goyim (the cattle), hence why Birth Control and abortions are all under the banner of sustainable development.

They do this deception because whoever criticizes them is immediately accused of being a fume pumping short sighted capitalist.

Number 13 is just a coinkydinky, by the way.

This but unironically. The Earth is dying, only piece of creation God gave us, so let's try to take care of it

>The biggest dog whistle is "sustainable development" it actually means government control of natural resources.

This is the most american fear ever.

And it makes no sense.

Natural resources WERE all under gov. control until pretty recently historically, when they started getting sold or leased to private entities.
