I want to start attending an Orthodox church but my social anxiety is killing me about it. I have never attended a church ever before. I dunno boys, I feel kinda pathetic that I am afraid to attend a place of worship.

You just go inside. You don't even have to say anything to anyone unless they say something to you, which will be "Hello." Just stand in the back and observe everything. Rinse and repeat till you get comfortable with the place. Then you will be on your way as a catechumen. By then you should have gotten to know everyone a little bit, that when you go up during liturgy for the catechumen prayers, you won't freak out.

Gradual desensitization is the key to overcoming social anxiety. Don't show up to church with the goal of socializing with everyone in the room. Just show up. Then in a couple of visits or so, make small talk for a few minutes with one person. Then maybe in a couple more visits or so try to hang around a little longer. And so on, and so on.

Just go, it's no big deal and the experience will likely make your anxiety disappear.
