> I believe that the Church in Poland is experiencing a particularly difficult moment. I am afraid that the avalanche process of secularization of our society is just beginning, and we, like children, are playing in the sandbox, making castles out of sand and arguing about who is smarter among us. There was a time when the communists tried to laicize our nation. And now, with our own hands, we laicize him, I dare say that, with the hands of bishops and priests.
> In Poland, but not only in Poland, an honest Catholic should be anti-clerical. The role of the clergy is, after all, limited. When clergymen try to push, rule, control the power, trespass on unknown field, it begins to be dangerous.
> The principle that "a lesser evil can be done to avoid a greater one" must be thrown out of the side of our consciousness if we want to survive as a society and as a Nation. It is not impossible that in time the savior will come again and want to treat us with the "lesser evil".
> May I be a false prophet: the Polish Church is unwell. It's big, colorful, impressive - but it's really artificially inflated like a balloon. I'm afraid we do not appreciate the risks.
> There was a kind of triumphalism. True, the Polish Church came out strong out of the communist era. Over the years, however, there have been phenomena that should fill us with care, and maybe even with shame. And there was no reflection. We, the people of the Church, and especially the clergy, thought that we were still great, victorious and that we deserve applause and even privileges. The late Fr. Józef Tischner tried to bring priests and bishops to the ground. He was called a liberal and from now on, the word "liberal" became a curse and a synonym of "leftist", who really works to the detriment of the Church, even when he is a zealous priest.
