The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Are there any early Christian writings concerning Zoroastrianism? I know there have been more modern on the subject, but I'm looking for something from the days when the two religions were contemporaries, before Islam wiped the latter off the map. Something like "Against the Heathens" by St. Athanasius, except about Zoroastrianism.

The only reference I found was in a old book called The Nestorians and Their Rituals. The website basically copied the list from an appendix in the book. I'm trying to find the book's sources.

What's the probability that most of the Syriac Christian writings were destroyed by Muslims? I've heard they had a tendency to burn any non-Muslim document which didn't contain practical knowledge that they could use.

That's actually a notable problem for sources on Eastern Christianity, especially Syriac/Aramaic and Arabic writings. Often times we only have first names and obscure titles to go from, mentioned in other more preserved works. While the Gospels weren't forbidden for Christians under Muslim rule, the more obscure writings were either destroyed or purposely forgotten.
