Feeling like a d'ck because of what ? Because they are your friends etc. ? Well, you found the Truth. Don't shun them, ghost them or whatever. Go heads up and tell them what you're on about and why you do what you do. Either they will understand and stay your friends and wish you the best with your spiritual life - which is now that you at some point will be able to receive the most holy Eucharist, infinitely more rich - or they will do as protestants always do and rant and so on. Definitely don't be a coward. Be a Catholic.
