Some of it goes to feeding the hungry and some of it goes to buying adult men my little pony parphernalia but I still support it. The system isn't perfect but God has provided me with more than enough share with others, even if some use it foolishly.

I think considering that, at least in the US, our wages have been stagnant since the 1970s while inflation has done nothing but skyrocket, when the average american is over $130,000 in debt according to USAToday, and also considering the lack of sincere charity in a lot of churches these days, I'd say if you need to do it in order to survive, then do what you must, and we'll pray that god does something to help get you out of it. Cause until something changes, that debt is going to keep going up, and with most americans working multiple jobs to stay afloat and to pay off the debt they already have, more debt is the last thing anyone needs.

tl;dr, until we see people's average earnings, currently at $55,000 a year, increase substantially, there isn't really a choice in the matter. Do what you have to, and pray that god gets you out of it somehow.

Welfare is for those that cannot otherwise earn enough to make a living. If you live on welfare because you can't do otherwise or because you lost your job and are searching for a new one, nothing's wrong with it.

If you receive welfare only and on purpose although you could be working or do something else like studying etc. and straight out refuse to do differently, then it is a very bad thing, because you are not living up to what God wanted you to be and do.

Welfare in and of itself is nothing bad, in fact it's a good thing when it's used like it is intended.
