Look, I understand your distrust of the Jews, but don't believe that God's word is a carefully devised Jewish propaganda piece. They would put stuff like this: "“Know, therefore, that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stubborn people. Remember and do not forget how you provoked the Lord your God to wrath in the wilderness." (Deut. 9:6) They wouldn't have shown Moses as constantly miserable for leading such a rebellious bunch. Or the many prophets who constantly compared national Israel to a whore. Or Paul saying God's OT promises belong to everyone who believes in Christ, not only the ethnic Jews. Or the whole Whore of Babylon bit in Revelations that's really another name for post-Christ Jerusalem.

That exact reason. "He chooses the foolish of the world to shame the wise." He did that so we believe Scriptures on its own merit and truthfulness and not from the mere human circumstances of Its creation. I can explain further if you want to know more.
