I can vouch for the pomodoro technique, the important thing is to take a focused 5-minute break between pomodoros where you lay down, meditate, mini-nap, whatever to calm yourself down. I don't count going to the restroom, refilling my water as part of the 5-minute break, so it's really a 5-10 minute break. I use the 4-7-8 breathing technique (look this up) and pray for those focused 5 minutes.
It is very important to take a 15-minute break after 4 pomodoros. Time yourself when you goof on the Internet and visit your websites. I was greedy in the past and neglected this and ended up abandoning the pomodoro technique. Reward yourself, after doing this for some time, it was actually a hassle to force myself to do the 15-minute break.
4 pomodoros — I call it a block — after a block, I do a mini-retrospective of what went well, what went wrong, and try to improve my game. After about 2 blocks, I will take a 30-minute nap. So far I haven't really napped or dozed off into sleep, but just laying down and trying to get to sleep has helped and refreshed my memory. After a day, you'll accomplish a couple blocks (for me it can range from 2 all the way up to 4 blocks or more), and do a retrospective of the entire day (what I did, what I plan to do, blockages, retrospective). Repeat for the next day. Don't be too hard on yourself and take it a step at a time, again that is why retrospectives are important (look this up on how to do properly).
One day out of the week, I don't do any pomodoros, I just relax. I don't do this to follow the Old Covenant, but I believe God set out a good example for His People and I believe it is important to fully relax for a single day out of the week.
Hope this helps, God bless and get to work.
