Well, Pilate was a coward. Whether he repented or not … as far as I know at least, there's no scripture on whether he did or not. But with Judas, we know that he at least regretted his deed, prolly repenting in his heart. There's at least chance Judas has been forgiven as Christ Himself told us that everything can be forgiven except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Which Judas didn't commit (as well as Pilate, coming from that perspective) as much as I know.

To make a long story short: Yes, I think there's a chance, so to speak, that God in His infinite mercy forgave the both of them.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is, at the root, to reject Him with revulsion after having a spiritual taste of what eternity with Him truly is.

This is like a person who, having tasted of sweet, pure, life-giving Water throwing it out in disgust, preferring to instead have sewage water.

To such a person being made right with God through Jesus Christ is an abomination.

To such a person every aspect of Jesus and eternal life is an abomination.

This is something to keep in mind when you read of how severe Jesus deals with certain people as recorded in the Gospel accounts.

Regret != repentance.

Pontius Pilate is a saint in the Ethiopian Church.

That aside, God alone knows if they can be saved. We should pray for them, especially for ol Judas who regretted his deed, gave the money back, and killed himself in despair. But they're definitely examples of exactly what not to do if one wants to be saved.

I don't think Judas had, or any of his disciples for that matter before the Pentecost. None of them truly understood Christ's teachings.
