Mars will be nice, if I was an astronaut I'd try to get to be a colonist there, but this is true. We are likely the only place in our observable Universe with life, and we aren't getting out of this galaxy any time (ever). Welcome to it.

Hopefully one day we can mine asteroids though, that's just awesome.

He took human nature. If there would be a plan to save beings other than humans, he would take nature of angels, that he didn't. Asides this, aliens we are talking about will most likely be cockroaches IN SPACE, not sentient beings. Humans are only beings created in image and likeness of God, period.
