Post your Bible collections, anons. Every language and translation shall be posted and argue why it is the best.

I posted my collection in another thread before and specifically use for my mother tongue (German) the Schlachter2000 translation. Mainly because the NT is not based on the (((newfound manuscripts))). It is very well written and the beauty of this translation is a synergy of archaic and modern German, since it was translated in the early 20th century and Franz Eugen Schlachter tried to translate as accurately as possible from the Masoretic text and Textus Receptus. As comparison I use a Luther translation of 1545 with the Deuterocanonical books; it is, obviously, more archaically written, but is in some cases more truthful than the Schlachter2000. A Catholic Bible in German was out of question because the Einheitsübersetzung is completely based on the Masoretic, New Vulgate and Nestle-Aland texts.

As only English translation I bought the 1611 facsimile with the Deuterocanonical books, it even has 1 and 2 Esdras, or 3 or 4 Esdras, however you like to put it. Speaking of 2 Esdras: Is it actually canon? (((Wikipedia))) says that it was written a century after Christ's crucifixion, what I cannot believe.

I'd post mine now, but I'll be leaving for work soon.

I've got just about every popular English translation, and some more obscure ones too. I've also got my Greek/Hebrew/English Bible.

Not a fan of the Einheitsübersetzung I assume?

Suppose you didn't read the whole OP.

>and argue why it is the best

I was going to post, but then … no. That is literally the dumbest argument anyone can possibly ever have in their lives.
