Christchan is back up after maintenance! The flood errors should now be resolved. Thank you to everyone who submitted a bug report!

So, was the figure seen by Ezekiel God the Father, or God the Son?

Ezekiel 1:26-28

>26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

>27 And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.

>28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

Sounds like the Father.

What is the reasoning behind this? I'm sure you're correct, but I want to know.

Rainbow is a symbol of the Father since the Noahide Covenant when He used it as a symbol of His promise never to destroy the world by flood again. Christ's throne is if I remember Revelation white not sapphire which is blue. The Father's throne is also described in a vision in Exodus as being of sapphire/blue stone and rainbow.

I don't know but this painting is cool

That makes a lot of sense.

>The Father's throne is also described in a vision in Exodus as being of sapphire/blue stone and rainbow.

I remember that. It said there was something like a sapphire/lapis lazuli pavement beneath his feet.

One of my favorite visions in the OT.

3 And the glory of the Lord of Israel went up from the cherub, upon which he was, to the threshold of the house: and he called to the man that was clothed with linen, and had a writer's inkhorn at his loins.

4 And the Lord said to him: Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem: and mark Thau upon the foreheads of the men that sigh, and mourn for all the abominations that are committed in the midst thereof.

Same throne is seen in latter vision. And in this vision we literally see the Christ, who marks elect with sign of Cross (T). So it's the Father or rather icon of him.
