God exists as communion.

We are called to exist as communion too. Our Lord prayed that we be one just as He and the Father are one.

Remember that "Trinity" is not the name of God. "Trinity" is a description of the dynamics surrounding the three divine persons.

And we can understand God. For that, we have to be in Christ, to truly participate in the triune life of God, to truly be the adopted brothers of Christ.

The word "person" doesn't have all the same meanings that it did when the term three persons was first used. A more accurate term would persona. But even that isn't entirely accurate. God is one in essence, but three in subsistence. The idea was never that there were three literal people in the Trinity.
