To make it short, I feel spiritually deaf. It is very rare for me to hear the voice of God, and in most cases I am usually hearing what I want to hear out of wishful thinking. If anyone on this board has any insight, please help. I'm tired of failing to do this will out of this deafness.

I do not think that hearing to God is common anon. I've never heard anybody during prayers, and I mean hear with my ears. Probably it's your own mind.

Feelings about what to do or say, yes. Occasionally. That's the influence of the Holy Spirit.

I read my Bible plenty. And I didn't mean physically hearing Him; I always misinterpret what He says. I had to soend all of last semester feeling abandoned (though I know that's not true) because my judgement is nearly always clouded.

Apart from that just remember to be patient and don't compare your spiritual maturity to anyone else.

The divine essence is not able to be depicted. The Son became incarnate though so we are able to depict Him and we can depict the Father as Him, as He is the image of the invisible God, but to depict the Father as a different person is iconographically unacceptable, not that that has stopped people from doing it for years, especially but not limited to in the west.

I don't think he's saying the Son was ever not God. I think he's saying the Son stopped being non-physical and became something physical that could be perceived.

Praying for a clean heart and an ear to hear may help. There are also a lot of articles on ways in which the holy spirit communicates. One of the key things to be able to hear the spirit though is the baptism of fire, aka of the holy spirit. The best advice i can give is to do reseach, act, and to have faith. You must have faith that the Father indeed loves you and wants to talk with you, same as the holy spirit. Remeber the parable of the prodigal son, god loves us and wants us to come to him, all we have to do is take a few steps to be with him and he will rush to us. Have faith. Besides that I will pray for your spiritual breakthough and I urge that others of this board pray for our fellow christ anon. May you seek and find the love of God and may he be Glorified.

It's not that the Father is the divine essence, it's that only the Son has a human essence, unlike the Father and the Holy Spirit

I would strongly suggest reading On The Divine Images to anyone who this stuff is foreign to, it isn't very complicated when it's explained in full

You misunderstood me. If you make an image of the Son, you make an image of the God-man. The Son is never merely a creature. It is inpossible to make an image of the man without depicting that which cannot be seen.
