Is it possible that God is helping us become more advanced morally slowly over time? In a sense, working with us at our own speed?

An example I can think of is how adulterers were stoned to death in the OT, and when Jesus comes along, he saves a woman from this fate.

Perhaps the Israelites were not ready to accept what Jesus taught.

Where are you going with this?

I can sense your suspicion. I'm not trying to start making progressive claims about what Christianity should change.

>Is it possible that God is helping us become more advanced morally slowly over time? In a sense, working with us at our own speed?

Moral law is by definition eternal. Juridical law is by definition bound to places and times.

>An example I can think of is how adulterers were stoned to death in the OT, and when Jesus comes along, he saves a woman from this fate.

Juridical law of Moses was harsh that's true, but it was just. And was lighter than laws of surrounding nations. It was harsh because Israelites were stiff necked people with hardness of heart, prone to evil. It was pointing to moral law via natural ways of fear. Christ, who did not changed moral law, use supernatural way of grace to point and help keep moral law and merit in it.

>Perhaps the Israelites were not ready to accept what Jesus taught.

Noone is really. But with grace all can be.

In the last 100 years, Western civilization has undergone a moral regression that can only be described as catastrophic. We haven't regressed back to pagan morality, but rather gone so far beyond any idea of moral order that we've somehow managed to totally invert every aspect of Natural Law, including those aspects that the pagans were aware of and held dear. Western society is utterly corrupt. This kind of evil hasn't been seen since the days of Noah. This isn't progress. This isn't advancement. A cave man living 10,000 years ago had a better sense of right and wrong than a modern suburbanites. Thank God that places in the Third World and the East maintain some sense of morality, some of it even based on Christianity.

I don't think so.

Jesus is a reformer. Not a revolutionary. He didn't condemned stoning itself but the hypocrisy of the judges. That's like saying: only someone who is God alike can make such judgement.

>adulterers were stoned in OT times

>they're not stones anymore

If anything this is moral decline.

>and when Jesus comes along, he saves a woman from this fate

Read the context, the Kikes wanted to accuse Christ of breaking Roman law, since he professed belief in OT law. By sparing the woman he spared himself first and foremost, because he needed to be crucified as legally innocent in order to reveal the full corruption of the Kikes - "I find no fault in this man".

excellent post here. The West is doomed to collapse and die, and it's a shame because for a while it was the pinnacle of humanity and mortal creation. I'll always hold the West in high regards…I'll always watch Lord of the Rings with fondness. But it's time to resist this evil with all of our might. Even if the West dies as a result.
