I was looking to get a physical KJV and this edition popped up. It's huge, incredibly dense and has loads of footnotes, critical essays, and historical context.

The problem is that I'm worried all these critical essays and historical context will push atheism and a mentality that the Bible is inaccurate and not breathed by God.

Anyone read this edition and can recommend it, or is it atheist nonsense?

haven't read that one but annotated versions are more often than not garbage

if you really want one it's probably less cancerous than pic related (oxford nrsv) at least

Generally speaking if you are looking into buying bibles with commentaties, make sure that you can find two - one for the historical and critical references etc and another with a more spiritual commentary. This way you aren't just getting one side or the other, and especially in the case with the "historical-critical" stufff, it means you won't be swamped with doubts or concerns.

Those are both critical text. Unless you want these changes you need to use the Authorized KJB.
