Not quite. There are some times when angel of the Lord is named but it's not Christ but generic angel like in Joshua 5.

He's probably Orthodox. Orthodox tradition identifies the Angel of the Lord in the Old Testament as the pre-Incarnate Logos.

If I recall correctly, the distinction has something to do with whether the Angel in question is referred to as 'Lord' by the narrator, by those speaking to Him, or by Himself.
