Hmm not sure. It might be someone from the reddit team who recently joined the staff who saw it and deleted it.

>race no longer exists

>"saint martin luther king"

kek, goofy

" as someone who is a white man who married a Chinese woman, I know from experience that what he says is just not so. The only parent that expressed any racial reservations about my marriage was my own mother, who told me that I should consider that my children would look funny. After she saw how beautiful both of my daughters turned out to be, she admitted that she was wrong. Neither of my wife's parents had any objections about my race. When I asked for permission to marry my wife, my future father-in-law's only concern was my ability to support my wife… which given that I was then a college student with a part time job in a bookstore, was not an outrageous concern." - John Whiteford

Lucky he had daughters, I think if he had hapa manlets the tune would be different

his view on race is kind of liberalized and dumb, but his twitter and blog is decent in terms of politics and global warming and the bible

As I said before, he is one of Francis' buddies. He was promoted by the pope to some position I can't remember the name of. by the pope.

The Whiteford quote is painful. It's a shame because he's spot-on about the homosexual agenda and creeping modernism in the church.

Because every cringe thread evolves into a Church-bashing thread. And last time I checked, that is maximum uncharitable and therefore against the board rules.

that didn't happen in this thread or the other thread that was delete.

iirc, Two women priests and one woman deacon. Only listened to one man give a homily there. He was visiting from the diocese or something. I forgot what his position was.

Why is your profession riddled with homosexuals?

f59630 No.603031

>>602935

I came from a classical piano background, and it really helped. The foot pedals are still super challenging, but not having to worry about the manuals as much helps. I would say talk to the organist at your church about it. It's a pretty small and community, so knowing and getting lessons from someone will help. I have the benefit of being in a small town, which means people know each other, so I was able to land a spot on a sub list pretty easily. Also, I would say don't be afraid to be on the sub list for a church you wouldn't normally attend. The experience will serve you well.

I heartily recommend it. It's been very comfy and laid-back in my experience. Plus it's interesting to see the little differences in liturgical churches, such as how Episcopals put general confession in the middle of the service or how Lutherans, interestingly enough, retain the tradition of the clergy facing the altar during prayer.

>>603002

Do you mean music in general? Classical music forms aren't AS infested as popular genres and especially theater. I actually don't know that many gays in music at the university I attend. They certainly exist, but doesn't feel disproportionate to what I see in society at large. If anything, my music courses tend to be LESS infested with homosexuals and SJW rhetoric than the gen-eds I have had to take.

why don't you join a real church (catholic, ortho, or baptist)

f59630 No.603047

>>603044

I'm not a member there. I play once, maybe twice a month. I do it for the experience. It's good resume building, plus it pays pretty decently. I would like to go full time in my own denomination at some point. The pastor at my home congregation (LCMS) knows about it and understands. As far as why I'm not Catholic, Orthodox, or Baptist, I'd rather not spark such a debate here. This is a comfy cringe thread. I'm surprised nobody has asked me for horror stories yet.

If you mean choir boys, I don't know why some are. Music in general? A lot of them aren't musicians or creators, they're just over-represented in media.

It's nice to meet you too, anon. I hope you have a blessed day!

>>603051

I worked there the Sunday after Trump was elected.

>uncomfortable silence, lots of sadness in the congregation

>woman priest gets up for the homily, doesn't talk about the readings at all

>focuses on how everyone must be feeling and how scared people are

>free safety pins to show the LGBTQWTFBBQ community and illegals you're a safe person

Another time, after the big Charlottesville rally last year:

>Announcements before the offering

<In light of Charlottesville, we're taking up a special offering for the SPLC to combat racism

>try to keep a straight face

>go downstairs to get coffee after service, sit at a table with one of the members of the altar guild

>she starts a rant about how sex and gender are so different and WHY DON'T PEOPLE GET IT REEE

A couple months ago I sat through a "ban the guns" homily there. The only good thing is that since the servoce is liturgical, they can't fuck up most of it if they read out of the book. You can give the most horrible and disgraceful homily in the world, but there's not really a way to change the Sanctus.

Catholic , orthodox or High Lutheran are the only viable options. Baptists are too far removed from sacred tradition

geez

It sounds like the liberal churches are more politicized than the conservatives ones.

Let me guess, the average age in the congregation is 100?

f59630 No.603720

>>603312

Well, it's a college town, so there's a few (overwhelmingly female and/or homosexual) students there. Other than that, though, yeah, older crowd. I feel sad because it's such a pretty old building. The people are genuinely very sweet. Their theology is just garbage.
