Christchan is back up after maintenance! The flood errors should now be resolved. Thank you to everyone who submitted a bug report!

Was standing at the church. But I didn't dare come in.

I don't know what will do there. I don't even know how to do the sign of the cross at mass

Can I just come in?

Just go in and do whatever you are comfortable doing. You can learn all the proper things to do later, what is most important for you now is that you just go.

I was the same as you last year. It can be daunting at first, but no one tends to pay any attention to you during the mass, so it doesn't matter if you don't get things right. The more often you go, the more you'll learn.

Everyone is probably too busy to notice you unless you do any dumb shit like talking in tongues

Was going to last christmas, so psyched for it but chickend out at the last minute.

Is there some tips for fitting in so I can pretend to be confident enough to at least walk in? Like dress code or common conversation topics.

I mean I really want to start going but I'm just too much of a coward.

which denomination?

I started going a few months ago (Lutheran) and been attending almost every week since then.

I imagine it can be different in Cathodox Churches, but for protestant ones, being there the first time doesn't mean much

and being a first timer at a baptist church usually means shaking a lot of hands and being invited over for supper :3

Man they will be happy to have a newcomer unless you're in a freaky backwards church, you don't have to try to fit in as if you've been there 10 years. They'll know you're new. It's what I did, just walked into a Catholic church and sat down in the pew, no prior research just learned by imitation. All you really have to know beforehand is the rules for Eucharist in whatever denom you're going for and to respect them.

The only thing you HAVE to know is to not take communion if you're not a part of the church
