I'm interested to know more about protestant view on catholic mariology, so I have a question.
First, read these two prayers that I've just written
1. Oh Lord, You've created our mother, Mary, free from any sin and with Your help she became blessed among women, queen of heaven and mother of our God, Jesus. You've taken her into your kingdom and put her on the throne, where she sits and rules, higher than angels. Please, always be with me, always guide my life according to Your will, so I can too be accepted into eternal life. Amen.
2. Oh Mary, your son, Jesus Christ, is truly the only God, the greatest being, who died for our sins on the cross. In Him we live, in Him we find our salvation, only through Him can we avoid hell. He is the way, the truth and the light. Please, holy mother, pary for us, so that the grace of our God be granted to us. Amen.
Prayer number one praises Mary more than protestants would agree to and is quite focused on her, but it is a prayer directly to God that only sets Mary as an example. Prayer number two focuses on Jesus, but is through the intercession of Mary.
Which one is worse? Would using the better one be a sin?
